This workshop will emphasize effective intercultural communication strategies during presentations, including clarity, organization, audience awareness, and delivery techniques.
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:
- Identify key components of effective and professional presentations in academic and workplace settings.
- Apply intercultural communication strategies to improve clarity and confidence when presenting in English
- Recognize common presentation challenges for EAL students and apply strategies to address them
- Use practical techniques to manage nervousness and anxiety before and during presentations
- Adapt presentation and communication skills for different contexts, including academic courses, job interviews, and professional presentations
- Demonstrate increased awareness of audience expectations in Canadian academic and professional environments
- Identify SLC resources and supports available to further develop communication and presentation skills
