SFU Orange Shirt Day at Holland Park
SFU Orange Shirt Day
In observation of this month’s National Day for Truth & Reconciliation (a.k.a Orange Shirt Day), you are invited to participate in an annual community gathering hosted by Skookum Surrey, the Surrey Urban Indigenous Leadership Committee (SUILC) and the Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association (FRAFCA) at Holland Park on Monday September 29th (4 – 6pm). As we have done in the past, a group from SFU and other community leaders/partners will be drumming over to the event. Join with ISC staff as we meet at Surrey City Hall at 3:30pm and walk over to Holland Park. This event will be led by Gary George from the Office of Indigenous Peoples.
Remember to wear your orange shirt – a symbol of hope, reconciliation, and a commitment to a better future – to show your commitment to both truth and reconciliation.
Spread the word! We hope to reach as many community members as possible to foster a larger, more unified gathering. Tell your friends, family, neighbours, and coworkers about the event. We hope to see you there!
