What to Expect:

  • A curated selection of short films by Indigenous creators, running continuously on a loop throughout the event. Culture Days

  • Films include My Friend the Green Horse (2024, 11 min) — a luminous blend of stop-motion animation and live-action, exploring the story of acclaimed filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin’s childhood refuge among animal spirits; Woodland Spirits (2007, 27 min) — a journey across northern Lake Superior intertwined with ancient rock paintings; and Now is the Time (2019, 16 min) — reflecting on the 50th anniversary of raising a totem pole in Haida Gwaii and the resurgence of Haida carving and culture.
