FIC Academic Advisor is invited to introduce students to the role of Academic Advising and how it supports academic planning, graduation, and transfer goals. The session will help students understand key program requirements for the Associate of Arts degree, including credit progression, GPA policies, and academic standing.

Get to Know Advising Support

This FTR session will introduce students to learn how to access and navigate advising services at FIC By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

  1. Understand what Academic Advising does and how it supports their graduation and transfer goals.
  2. Identify program requirements, credit progress, and GPA policies relevant to their associate degree.
  3. Learn how to book advising appointments (general advising & specialized advising).
  4. Understand the importance of meeting with advising before applying to university or work opportunities.
  5. Create a short Advising Action Plan for the next 1–2 months.

The workshop will conclude with a guided activity in which students create a short Academic Advising Action Plan outlining concrete next steps for the next one to two months.

This workshop will be taking place on Thursday, May 28th at 12:30-1:30PM in Room 2030 at FIC.
