Black History Month 2026

Black Brilliance in BC is a free, community-driven celebration recognizing the achievements, leadership and cultural contributions of Black communities across British Columbia. Held during Black History Month, this annual gathering creates space to reflect on history, spotlight present-day excellence and inspire the future through learning, dialogue and celebration.

Taking place on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Surrey City Hall, the event features a dynamic DIVERSEtalks panel with local Black leaders, engaging performances in music and dance, exhibition tables, traditional cuisine and the presentation of the Black Brilliance Awards. With opportunities to connect, learn and celebrate together, Black Brilliance in BC brings people from across Surrey and Metro Vancouver together to honour Black stories, voices and impact in Canada.
