Black History Month 2026
Hogan’s Alley was once the heart of Vancouver’s Black community, a place of culture, connection, and resilience. This event brings together Black community leaders to reflect on the neighbourhood’s legacy, the impact of its displacement, and the ongoing work to reclaim and celebrate its history. Through personal stories, discussion, and critical reflection, the panel will explore how the past shapes present-day efforts in cultural preservation and community development, centering Black voices in imagining a future that honours Hogan’s Alley’s rich heritage.
When: Tuesday, February 17th at 6:00-8:00PM
Where: Marianne and Edward Gibson Art Museum, SFU Burnaby Campus
