Community Kitchen: A Celebration of Black Cuisine and Culture
Black History Month 2026
Community Kitchen: A Celebration of Black Cuisine and Culture is a welcoming, interactive event hosted by Student Services that brings people together through food, storytelling and shared experience. Rooted in African and Caribbean traditions, this gathering highlights the cultural significance, history and creativity behind beloved dishes that have been passed down through generations.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore diverse flavours, learn about the origins and traditions of Black cuisine, and connect with others in a warm, community-centered space. More than a meal, Community Kitchen is a celebration of culture, heritage and the powerful role food plays in building understanding and belonging.
Hosted at the East Residence Kitchen, this event will be occurring on February 5th from 5:00 – 8:00PM
