Pre-university level program

FIC offers a pre-university level University Transfer Program (UTP) Stage I, which prepares you for entry into university level studies in Business Administration, Computing Science or Arts and Social Sciences in the UTP Stage II.

University level programs

UTP Stage II programs are offered in partnership with SFU as an alternative pathway to a university degree. Courses are the equivalent of the first year of the SFU degree and are quality assured by SFU. Upon successful completion of the FIC UTP Stage II and having met the SFU specified Grade Point Average (GPA), you will be eligible to apply for transfer to selected SFU Bachelor degree programs with advanced standing status of up to 30 credit hours with the appropriate GPA.

Study Abroad programs

FIC offers a one semester (4 month) Study Abroad Program for students who are interested in a short-term international academic experience. Students in the FIC Study Abroad Program have full access to all of the Simon Fraser University facilities and services including on-campus accommodation, libraries, computer labs, recreation facilities, and career services.

Upon successful completion of the Study Abroad Program students have the option to continue to complete the full FIC Pre-university program (UTP I) or University level program (UTP II). Students who successfully complete the UTP II program and who have the appropriate GPA, would be eligible to transfer to Year 2 of Simon Fraser University’s bachelor degree programs with advanced standing.

Please note: Entry into the UTP Stage II is dependent on your successful completion of the UTP Stage I or satisfactory completion of Year 12. Entry into second year university is dependent on your successful completion of the UTP Stage II with the specified Grade Point Average (GPA).
