 Fee Refund Policy
  1. For the purposes of this Fee Refund Policy, term fees are defined as one full-time term of study in any program at FIC.

  2. If an applicant accepts a place offered by FIC and pays the fees, a binding contract is created between the student and FIC.

  3. Notification of cancellation or withdrawal from course(s), or withdrawal or deferral from a program of study must be made in writing to FIC.

  4. Students who dispute FIC’s decision regarding a refund, have access to an independent grievance resolution process. This does not circumscribe the student’s right to pursue other legal remedies or take further action under Canada’s consumer protection laws.

  5. In case of cancellation or withdrawal, the cancellation fee (and administration charge if relevant) will be calculated as shown in the table below.

  6. In case of deferral, the fees will be retained by FIC until recommencement of studies. If the student subsequently withdraws, the Fee Refund Policy will apply as at the date FIC was advised in writing of their withdrawal. FIC reserves the right to apply the Fee Refund Policy to the date of the initial deferral.

  7. Where a Study Permit renewal is rejected due to a breach in Study Permit conditions, a student must withdraw from FIC and the cancellation fee will be calculated as shown in the table below.

  8. Students whose enrollment is terminated by FIC will not be entitled to any refund of fees. Any fee refund is wholly at the discretion of FIC.

  9. FIC reserves the right to withdraw a program or course(s) from offer at its discretion. If a student is unable to enroll in a similar program or course(s) at FIC and the enrollment is cancelled, all fees will be refunded with the exception of a C$235 administration fee.

  10. All refunds under this Fee Refund Policy will be paid within four (4) weeks of receiving a written claim from the student.

  11. Refunds are to be paid to the person who enters into the contract with FIC, unless the person gives a written direction to FIC to pay the refund to another person.
