 The University Transfer Program (UTP) Stage II in Arts and Social Sciences provides the foundation courses that lead to further studies in areas including Economics, English, History, Political Science and Sociology. Introduction to these areas of Arts and Social Sciences during your UTP Stage II studies will enable you to choose more wisely your preferred major when you progress to the Bachelor degree. - MATH157 – Calculus for the Social Sciences I (Q) (Prerequisite: MATH100 with C minimum grade; MATH151 may be replaced with MATH157)
SFU requires all students to have at least one Quantitative (Q) course and one Writing (W) course, with a grade of C- or better. Students who transfer to SFU without meeting the W/Q requirements are subject to course restrictions at SFU. Mixed Program - Combined English language and academic program The Mixed Program is designed specifically for those students whose English language proficiency is slightly below that required to undertake a full academic load. This program combines full-time English language study delivered at FIC on the Burnaby campus with two academic courses from the UTP Stage I or UTP Stage II.
